The Tcl/Tk 8.1b2 release features several significant contributions
that came from the Tcl user community. In this message we acknowledge
and thank those users who contributed to this release.  Note that many
of the patches applied to 8.0.5 were also applied to the 8.1b2 code
base, and we are not repeating the names of the contributors of those
patches here.

Paul Duffin deserves special thanks for creating the initial version of
the stubs mechanism and working with Scriptics to see that it made
it into the release.  Jan Nijtmans contributed code and ideas to the
stub implementation and validated it in the context of his plus-patches.
Jean-Claude Wippler also worked closely with Paul, Jan, and the Scriptics
engineering team on the stubs design.

This release also incorporates Syd Polk's Tcl_Obj version of the lsort
-command implementation, which results in a big speedup for custom list sorts.

We log all bug reports and patch submissions in our bug database.
During each release cycle, we devote some engineering resources to
review the submissions.  While we may not apply a patch directly, they
provide a valuable aid to our engineers as they fix problems.
